Downsizing

Something Missing

“I wanted to update the look and feel of my home, and a friend of mine recommended Aisha from Hills & West Interiors. I engaged her services and what a great decision that was! She helped with every aspect, from direction and styling ideas to furniture sourcing and management. From key pieces through to furnishings and finer details. The brief was to focus on my open plan living/dining room and main bedroom. Aisha was able to bring together existing furniture and furnishings along with new, and convert an underwhelming living/dining room in to a luxurious and comfortable space filled with soul. The main bedroom was definitely ‘missing something’, and Aisha was able to bring smart and stylish ideas that created depth and warmth. Her attention to detail, her passion, knowledge, style and genuine desire to achieve something special was apparent throughout. Next, we are starting on updating my study.

Grade 2 Listed Manor

“Aisha helped style the interior design of my home, a grade 2 listed Georgian manor house in Surrey.  I was lucky enough for her to come and do a site visit before the project commenced where she consulted on the colour scheme and the plans for each room.  She was also available for zoom and telephone consults throughout the process which will helped as she could see how the rooms where developing.  Even though there is a big-time difference between Sydney and London, Aisha was easy to get hold of and flexible in terms of how we communicated.

 

Given this project is my home and not for imminent resale, it was great to see Aisha’s diversity in terms of styling and thematics, compared to my property development which was a more restrained brief.  With this project she was able to tailor the interiors to my personality, which was critical to me.  I tend to want to pack too much colour and craziness into each room and Aisha has been instrumental in helping me exercise some restraint – the result speaks for itself – I now have a beautiful home that reflects my personality but is retains the elegance that is fitting for period property.”

Residential townhouse development to market

“Aisha has been an invaluable contributor to bringing our residential townhouse development to market. She helped stage and style the internals of 2 and 3 bedroom villas and also oversaw the selection and maintenance of plants and greenery in the villas and common area. The result was a quality end-product styled to suit our ideal purchaser. The styling was commented upon and admired by purchasers and helped generate sales. Aisha was regularly onsite and hands-on, ensuring the staging was perfect, including removing and re-establishing the staging between townhouses following sales. The project was impacted by COVID and Aisha worked hard to re-negotiate much needed extensions on supplier contracts. I would have no hesitation in recommending Aisha for her management and implementation of sales producing styling and design.”

A Victorian terraced house development in London

“I collaborated with Aisha on the interior design and styling of a Victorian terraced house development in London. The project involved an extension, loft conversion and full refurb. As well as providing interior styling advice Aisha was involved in the architectural design and features I included in the initial house design.

Aisha provided an overall brief and direction for the project with a mood board for each room.  As the project developed there were changes along the way due to budgets etc. and Aisha was really helpful in dealing with my last-minute changes or any indecision I had.  

Given I developed the house at the start of covid when the market was unstable, it was even more critical that the house stood out in a crowded market. She suggested a more contemporary design, with accents that were mirrored throughout the house, keeping the palette neutral but with focal points in each room – which worked well for a property investment.  Overall, I was thrilled with the result and this was reflected in the sale – the house sold within three weeks and achieved 75k profit which was great in a market that was under significant pressure.”

Declutter, Source & Style

“Being a single mum, my 13yo and 9yo had ended up with an array of different pieces of furniture and toys, games, clothes plus bits and pieces from different ages and stages in their bedrooms. Aisha and Jana suggested a functional session that they would host directly with the girls for a few hours in the school holidays and it’s been a gamechanger.
